Robert Weeks was a four-year letterman in football at Winston-Salem State University.  He became a starter at the center position after the third game of his freshman year and never relinquished the starting role for the remainder of his career.  He started 40 consecutive games during his career as a Ram.   He was named to the New Pittsburgh Courier All-American team (1976 and 1977), the All-CIAA (1977) team was selected as All-NAIA, and All-District 26 (1977).  He was selected as co-captain of the offense in 1976 and 1977.  He graduated Cum Laude from Winston-Salem State University with a Bachelor of Science Degree in Health and Physical Education in 1978.  He retired from the United States Army after 20 years at the rank of Lieutenant Colonel
