CHARLOTTE, NC – The Winston-Salem State Rams will have some work to do this fall as the team was picked to finish second in the Southern Division of the Central Intercollegiate Athletic Association (CIAA) in the CIAA Preseason Predicted Order of Finish, Wednesday. There was more good news for the Rams as well with senior running back Kerrion Moore, senior offensive lineman Deveonte Mackey, and senior defensive lineman Jarell Bright earning spots on the 2018 CIAA Pre-season All-Conference team.

WINSTON-SALEM, NC – Winston-Salem State University junior outfielder Randy Norris was selected by the San Francisco Giants in the 19th round of the 2018 Major League Baseball Draft, Wednesday afternoon. Norris was the second pick of the 19th round (556 overall) and became the first WSSU player to be drafted into Major League Baseball.

The Rams battled through injury to place fifth in the final team standings at the meet with 77.5 points at the meet.

The Rams had some solid performances on opening day of the two-day meet as they look to repeat as CIAA champions.
MILLEDGEVILLE, GA – The Winston-Salem State Rams (30-19) had few problems hitting the ball, but the team struggled to get runs across the plate in a 12-5 road loss to the #8 Georgia College Bobcats (38-10). The Rams took the loss after plating just five runs in the game, but notching 15 hits.
MILLEDGEVILLE, GA – The Winston-Salem State Rams (30-18) gave a great effort with a late rally, but the team could not pull out the upset in a 10-6 loss to the #8 Georgia College Bobcats (37-10), Friday afternoon. The Rams gave a valiant effort, even taking a 6-2 late lead, but the team allowed eight runs in the final three innings of the game to take the hard-fought loss.
SALEM, VA – The Winston-Salem State Rams (13-26) gave a tremendous effort, but the team came up short in an 11-10 nine-inning loss to the Fayetteville State Broncos (15-24), Tuesday afternoon. With a trip to the 2018 Central Intercollegiate Athletic Association (CIAA) Softball Championship on the line, the Rams gave a tremendous effort, pushing the game to nine innings; however, it was the Rams whose season ended in the hard-fought loss.
SALEM, VA – The Winston-Salem State Rams (13-25) struggled at the plate when the team took a 7-1 loss to the Chowan Hawks (30-14) in the second round of the 2018 Central Intercollegiate Athletic Association (CIAA) Softball Championship Tournament. The Rams could not quite get the runs they needed across the plate in the tough loss.
INDIANAPOLIS, IN – Winston-Salem State University redshirt-sophomore running back Picasso Keaton was among the student-athletes selected to participate in the annual Career in Sports Forum, hosted by the NCAA. Keaton will be one of 200 student-athletes regardless of sport to participate in the four-day long educational opportunity.
SALEM, VA- The Winston-Salem State Rams (13-24) had an offensive breakout when the team took an 11-0 win over the Bowie State Bulldogs (14-18) to remain in the winner’s bracket of the 2018 Central Intercollegiate Athletic Association (CIAA) Softball Championship Tournament. The Rams combined a terrific offensive effort with a no-hitter to claim the win.
SALEM, VA – The Winston-Salem State Rams (12-24) opened the 2018 Central Intercollegiate Athletic Association (CIAA) Softball Championship Tournament in a dramatic fashion when the team took a 5-3 win over the Virginia Union Panthers (15-10). Entering the tournament as the third-seeded team from the CIAA Southern Division, the Rams secured an upset win over the Panthers, the second-seeded team from the CIAA Northern Division.
