    WINSTON-SALEM, NC – The Winston-Salem State Rams (7-3, 4-0 CIAA) opened Central Intercollegiate Athletic Association (CIAA) play in a big way when the team took an impressive four-set win over the Fayetteville State Broncos (6-5, 3-1 CIAA), Thursday evening. The Rams looked good throughout the entire match to claim the 25-15, 20-25, 25-23, and 25-17 win.

The Rams put on a stellar overall effort to claim the match, 25-16, 25-15, and 25-17.

    RICHMOND, VA – The Winston-Salem State University Rams escaped Richmond and the Virginia Union Panthers with a 21-20 win, behind 129 yards from Kerrion Moore and a score and 77 yards from Farrell Murchinson. The WSSU Rams managed 321 yards of Total Offense while holding the VUU Panthers to 261 yards of total offense, in the come from behind win.

    WINSTON-SALEM, NC – The Winston-Salem State Rams (5-3, 2-0 CIAA) had to battle, but the team was up to the challenge when they took a hard-fought three-set win over the Chowan Hawks, (1-7, 1-1 CIAA) on the opening day of the Central Intercollegiate Athletic Association (CIAA) Round Up, Saturday. The Rams had to battle for each set win, but were able to stage some strong rallies to claim the win, 25-17, 25-18, and 25-23.

Lions (1-2, 0-1 CIAA), Saturday afternoon in the Central Intercollegiate Athletic Association (CIAA) Volleyball Round Up. The Rams combined a stellar defensive effort with a breakout offensive effort to open conference play with a 25-8, 25-14, and 25-7 win at Whitaker Gymnasium.

This week, WSSU head coach Andi Henderson was honored as the Central Intercollegiate Athletic Association (CIAA) Volleyball Coach of the Week after leading the Rams to a win last week. The honor marked the second week with a conference honor for the Rams as senior outside hitter Jasmine Smith was named the CIAA Player of the Week in the previous week.

Fall Invitational. The Rams controlled much of the match, taking the opening set, 25-19, dropping the second set, 17-25, and claiming back-to-back wins in sets three and four, 26-24 and 25-23.

For the second straight match of the day, the Rams gave a tremendous effort, pushing the match to five sets, but the team could not pull out the victory in the tough loss.

    CHARLOTTE, NC – The Winston-Salem State Rams (0-1) volleyball team opened the 2017 season in dramatic fashion when the team took a five-set loss to the Augusta Jaguars (1-0) in the opening match of the Queens Fall Invitational, Friday morning. The Rams gave a great effort in the match. After taking losses in the two opening sets, 27-29 and 14-25, the Rams bounced back for 25-21 and 25-17 wins in the third and fourth sets respectively before taking a close 12-15 loss in the final set of the match.
