| SoftballINDIANAPOLIS, IN – The Winston-Salem State Rams (30-21) will have their work cut out for them as the team earned the fourth seed in the upcoming NCAA Division II Atlantic 1 Regional Softball Tournament. The team earned the eighth-ranking overall in the region and will take on the top-seeded host West Virginia Wesleyan Bobcats to kick off the post-season.[read more]

April 30, 2016Chowan Upsets Winston-Salem St. in Doubleheader for CIAA Baseball TitleCary, North Carolina (April 30, 2016) – The Chowan University Hawks came back from opening the with a loss to downing Winston-Salem State University in two games for their first-ever CIAA Baseball Championship Title. The Hawks recorded a 12-2 score in game one and pushed through to upset the Rams 7-2 in the second battle.
April 30, 2016Rams Claim 2016 CIAA Softball Championship with 5-4 Win Over ChowanRALEIGH, NC – Winston-Salem State (30-21) claimed the 2016 Central Intercollegiate Athletic Association (CIAA) Softball Championship when junior short stop Rebecca Demko hit a walk off RBI single in the seventh inning to claim their second championship in the last three seasons. The clutch play gave the Rams a 5-4 win over the Chowan Hawks (29-14) in the 2016 CIAA Softball Championship Game.
April 29, 2016Rams Advance to 2016 CIAA Softball Championship Game with 11-0 Win Over Bowie StateRALEIGH, NC – The Winston-Salem State Rams (29-21) played some stellar defense in an 11-0 win over the Bowie State Lady Bulldogs (15-21) to advance to the championship game of the 2016 Central Intercollegiate Athletic Association (CIAA) Softball Championship Tournament. WSSU junior Mercedes Hargett pitched the Rams to the win after nearly pitching a perfect game to take the victory.
