Three Rams Earn All-Region Honors

WINSTON-SALEM, NC - The D2CCA and National Collegiate Baseball Writers Association (NCBWA) both recently released All-Atlantic Region awards with three Winston-Salem State Rams recognized.

The D2CCA teams are voted on by the sports information directors in the region, and the NCBWA is voted on by a committee of the organization's members, and only players who earned all-conference recognition are eligible. The first team honors for McCormick and Nabholz will move them to the national ballots for All-America consideration.

Seth Reeves was voted first team All-Region, while Randy Norris and Ivan Acuna were tabbed to the second team.

Seth Reeves was voted first team All-Region, while Randy Norris and Ivan Acuna were tabbed to the second team.

Seth Reeves pitched 73.1 innings in 2017, allowing 55 hits while striking out 60. Tream hit just .201 against him in 19 appearances. Reeves went 9-2 on the season.

Randy Norris was second on the tema in hitting wiht a .359 average. Norris also had six doubles four triples and four home runs, while leading the naiton in stolen bases with 43 of 49 bases stolen. He was also named to the All-CIAA first team.

Ivan Acuna was Mr. Everything fo the WSSU Rams in 2017, leading the team in batting with a .370 average, with 68 hits including 19 doub les and 11 home runs, while driving in 54. Acuna was selected as the 2017 CIAA Baseball Player of the Year.
