WINSTON-SALEM, NC – The Winston-Salem State Lady Rams had another strong day at the Central Intercollegiate Athletic Association (CIAA) Southern Division Meet when the team posted a 4-1 team match record. With the effort, the Lady Rams finished team match play with 7-3 record.
The Lady Rams once again opened play with a strong win, taking a 690-528 win over Livingstone to open the day. After taking a tough 841-756 loss to division leader Fayetteville State, the Lady Rams bounced back with three straight wins. The team followed the effort with their best score of the day, posting an 823-587 win over Johnson C. Smith. The highlight of the day came when the Lady Rams took a clutch 769-764 win over Saint Augustine's in a match that literally came down to the final roll of the match. After the win, the team took their momentum into the final match of the day when they took a 754-702 win over Shaw.
WSSU sophomore Tyler Barringer posted the most impressive effort of the first two days with a 1,488 total pins and averaging 148.0 pins per match. WSSU freshman Kia Edgerton posted the top average for the team with a 151.88 over nine matches.
