    CLEMMONS, NC  - The Second Annual Yvette & Terry Griffin Tennis Benefit was a tremendous success and generated thousands of dollars in support of Rams tennis. The event featured a day of fun and competition for all in attendance with approximately $15,000 raised in support of Rams tennis.

    BOWIE, MD – The Winston-Salem State Rams  (10-9) gave one of their best efforts of the season, but the team fell short in a 5-1 loss to the Shaw Lady Bears (20-2) in the semifinal round of the 2018 Central Intercollegiate Athletic Association (CIAA) Women’s Tennis Championship Tournament. The loss ended the Rams’ season, but the team gave a tremendous effort and capped a great season. 
  • Rams Advance to Semifinals of 2018 CIAA Women's Tennis Championship Tournament with 5-0 Win Over Virginia Union

    BOWIE, MD – The Winston-Salem State Rams (10-8) advanced to the semifinal round of the 2018 Central Intercollegiate Athletic Association (CIAA) Women’s Tennis Championship Tournament in dominating fashion when the team took a 5-0 win over the Virginia Union Panthers (10-8), Thursday. The Rams took the win behind a great performance in the match.
  • Fourth Seeded Rams to Take on Fifth Seeded Virginia Union to Open 2018 CIAA Women's Tennis Championship Tournament

    CHARLOTTE, NC – The Winston-Salem State Rams (9-8) will begin their quest for the team’s second Central Intercollegiate Athletic Association (CIAA) championship this weekend when the team takes part in the 2018 CIAA Women’s Tennis Championship. The Rams will enter the tournament as the fourth seeded team in the eight-team conference championship tournament. 
  • Rams Close Regular Season with 7-2 Senior Day Win Over Livingstone

    WINSTON-SALEM, NC – The Winston-Salem State Rams (9-8, 9-4 CIAA) closed out the regular season in style when the team took a 7-2 Senior Day win over the Livingstone Blue Bears (1-12, 1-10 CIAA), Monday afternoon. The win marked a third straight regular season with a winning record for the Rams and provided a great send off as the team recognized its 2018 seniors.

    SALISBURY, NC – The Winston-Salem State Rams (8-8, 6-4 CIAA) got back to their winning ways when the team took a 7-0 road win over the Livingstone Blue Bears (1-11, 1-9 CIAA), Thursday afternoon. The Rams took the win behind one of their top performances of the season.

    WINSTON-SALEM, NC – The Winston-Salem State Rams (7-8, 6-4 CIAA) took a hard-fought 7-2 loss to the Johnson C. Smith Golden Bulls (13-9, 9-2 CIAA). The team made a great effort in one of their biggest matches of the season. However, the Rams could not quite pull out the win.

    WINSTON-SALEM, NC – The Winston-Salem State Rams (7-7, 6-3 CIAA) took a 9-0 loss to the Shaw Lady Bears (15-1, 10-0 CIAA), Sunday afternoon. The Rams gave a great effort, but the team fell short against the reigning conference champion Lady Bears.
  • Rams Claim Clutch 5-4 Win at Virginia State

    ETTRICK, VA – The Winston-Salem State Rams (7-6, 6-2 CIAA) had to dig deep to claim a clutch 5-4 road win over the Virginia State Trojans (8-4, 5-3 CIAA), Friday afternoon. The win was a key Central Intercollegiate Athletic Association (CIAA) match for the Rams who bounced back after a road loss yesterday.

    CHARLOTTE, NC – The Winston-Salem State Rams (6-6, 5-2 CIAA) took a tough 6-3 loss to the Johnson C. Smith Golden Bulls (11-8, 7-1 CIAA), Wednesday. The Rams gave a great effort with wins in doubles and singles play, but the team could not get enough wins to claim the team victory.

    SPARTANBURG, SC – The Winston-Salem State Rams (6-5) had their four-match winning streak snapped when the team took a hard-fought 7-2 loss to the Converse Valyries. The Rams were able to get wins in doubles and singles play, but the team could not quite get enough to pull out the victory.

  • Rams Go Undefeated at CIAA Tennis Round Up

    CHARLOTTE, NC – The Winston-Salem State Rams (5-4, 4-1 CIAA) had a perfect day at the Central Intercollegiate Athletic Association (CIAA) as the team notched three wins at the Life Time Athletic Club. The Rams took straight set wins over Virginia Union, Elizabeth City State, and Bowie State to improve to 4-1 in CIAA play.

    ELON, NC – The Winston-Salem State Rams (2-4) stepped up in class when the team took a hard-fought 7-0 loss to the Elon Phoenix (10-9), Thursday afternoon. The Rams gave a great effort against their NCAA Division I opponents, but the effort was not enough as the team took the tough loss.
  • Rams Open CIAA Southern Division Play with a 9-0 Win at Fayetteville State

    FAYETTEVILLE, NC – The Winston-Salem State Rams (2-2, 1-0 CIAA) opened Central Intercollegiate Athletic Association (CIAA) Southern Division play with a 9-0 win over the Fayetteville State Broncos (2-3, 2-1 CIAA), Tuesday afternoon. The win gives the Rams their first shutout victory of the season an opens conference play on a high note.

    DANVILLE, VA – The Winston-Salem State Rams (1-2) gave a solid effort, but it was not enough as the Rams took a hard-fought 6-3 loss to the Averett University Cougars (3-1), Saturday afternoon. The Rams took straight losses in doubles play, but the team battled back for three singles wins to take the loss.

    WINSTON-SALEM, NC – Bragging rights belong to the Winston-Salem State Rams (1-0) after the team took a 7-2 win over the neighboring Salem College Spirits (1-2), Friday. The win opened the 2018 season for the Rams and got the season started on the right foot. 
  • Terry and Yvette Griffin WSSU Tennis Benefit

    WSSU will host the first annual Terry & Yvette Griffin Tennis Benefit, August 5, 2017 located at 1424 Lewisville-Clemmons Road at 8:00 am at the Taylor Tennis Center in Clemons, NC. The event was organized by a local group of tennis fans and supporters of WSSU Tennis, in order to provide support for the WSSU Women’s Tennis Program.
