INDIANAPOLIS, IN – The Winston-Salem State Rams will once again return to the national stage as sophomores Kayla Foy, Cierra Thompson, and freshman Qizeah Jackson were selected to compete in the 2018 NCAA Division II Indoor Track & Field Championship Track & Field Meet. The NCAA announced its qualifiers for the national championship meet, Tuesday afternoon.
The Rams trio will compete in sprint events at the meet with all three competing in the women's 60m dash. All eyes will be on Foy at the meet as she will enter the meet with the top time in the nation with a 7.44 which she ran at the 2018 Central Intercollegiate Athletic Association (CIAA) Women's Indoor Track & Field Championship meet on February 12th. She led a WSSU sweep of the top four spots in the women's 60m dash at the conference championship meet with the top three punching tickets to nationals. Thompson earned her spot when she ran a 7.58 to place second while Jackson ran a 7.59 to place third.
There will more work for Jackson and Foy as both also qualified for the women's 200m dash as well.
