Foy Qualifies for 60m Finals at 2018 NCAA Division II Indoor Track & Field National Championships

 

 

PITTSBURG, KN – The Winston-Salem State Rams women's track & field team made its mark on the national stage on the first day of the 2018 NCAA Division II Indoor Track & Field National Championships, Friday. WSSU sophomore Kayla Foy stole the show when she qualified for the finals of the women's 60m dash in the preliminaries. 

The Rams sent three qualifiers in the women's 60m dash. Foy earned her spot in the event finals when she ran a 7.45 to place fourth in the preliminary round to qualify for the event finals. Redshirt-freshman Qizeah Jackson placed 17th with a 7.61 while sophomore Cierra Thompson placed 20th with a 7.77.

Foy followed the effort when she competed in the women's 200m dash. She placed 15th with a 25.12 in the event. Jackson did not take part in the event with an injury.
