PITTSBURG, KA – The Winston-Salem State Rams made their 2019 debut on the national stage when the duo of junior Ma'Kyia Gayden and sophomore Victoria Porter took the track at the 2019 NCAA Division II Indoor Track & Field National Championship Meet, Friday afternoon. Gayden put on a career-best performance to qualify for the finals of the women's 60m dash to highlight the day.
Gayden earned a trip to the finals of the women's 60m dash with a great performance. She ran a personal best 7.50 in the second heat of the women's 60m dash preliminaries. She placed second in the second heat of the event preliminaries.
Sophomore sprinter Victoria Porter also had a strong day when she competed in the women's 400m run. She placed 18th in the event with a 57.45.
The 2019 NCAA Division II Indoor Track & Field National Championships will conclude tomorrow. The finals of the women's 60m dash are set for a 5:20 p.m. start at the Robert W. Plaster Center. The meet is hosted by Pittsburg State University.
