After breaking out for a career-best season that including leading the Rams to one of the best seasons in school history.

  • Rams' Season Ends with Three-Set Loss to Wheeling Jesuit at NCAA Division II Atlantic Region Quarterfinals

    WHEELING, WVA – The Winston-Salem State Rams (22-8) had a great 2017 season that came to an end in the quarter final round of the 2017 NCAA Division II Atlantic Region Tournament. The Rams gave a solid effort, but the team’s offense could not stand up to the defense of the Wheeling Jesuit Cardinals (32-5), Thursday evening. The Rams were aggressive in the match, but the defense of the Cardinals proved to be too much in the 25-14, 25-16, and 25-12 loss.
  • Date and Time Set for Rams' Opening Round Match in 2017 NCAA Division II Atlantic Region Tournament

    WHEELING, WVA – A date and time has been set for the Winston-Salem State Rams’ first match in the 2017 NCAA Division II Atlantic Region Tournament. After earning the eighth seed in the tournament, the Rams will take on the top-seeded host Wheeling Jesuit Cardinals in a 7:30 p.m. match on Thursday, November 30, 2017.

    PETERSBURG, VA – For the second time in three seasons, the Winston-Salem State Rams (22-7) are the Central Intercollegiate Athletic Association (CIAA) Volleyball Champions after the team took a three-set win over the Shaw Lady Bears (27-5), Sunday afternoon at the Multipurpose Center on the campus of Virginia State University. The Rams out on a stellar performance to claim the championship, edging out the Lady Bears, 26-24, 25-23, and 25-23.

    PETERSBURG, VA – The Winston-Salem State Rams (21-7) advanced to the 2017 Central Intercollegiate Athletic Association (CIAA) Volleyball Championship match in stellar fashion when the team took a three-set win over the CIAA Northern Division Champion Chowan Hawks (15-12), Saturday afternoon. With the win, the Rams return to the CIAA Volleyball Championship match for the second time in three seasons and will seek their second conference title in three seasons.

The Rams rolled to the win behind a great overall effort to claim the 25-16, 25-18, and 25-15 win.

    PETERSBURG, VA – After an extremely successful regular season, the Winston-Salem State Rams (19-7, 14-2 CIAA) will begin their quest for a conference championship at the 2017 Central Intercollegiate Athletic Association (CIAA) Volleyball Championship Tournament this weekend. After finishing the regular season with a 19-7 overall record and a 14-2 record in CIAA play, the Rams are in prime position to claim their second CIAA championship in three seasons.

    CHARLOTTE, NC – The Winston-Salem State Rams were honored for a stellar 2017 regular season as five Rams were named to the 2017 Central Intercollegiate Athletic Association (CIAA) All-Conference team. The Rams had a pair of players to earn first team All-CIAA honors while a trio of Rams earned second team All-CIAA honors. There was also a Rams duo to earn CIAA All-Rookie honors as well.

    WINSTON-SALEM, NC – The Winston-Salem State Rams (19-7, 14-2 CIAA) sent their seniors out with a bang as the team took a dominating three-set senior night win over the Livingstone Blue Bears (5-19, 3-13 CIAA), Thursday evening. The Rams put on a dominating performance to take the 25-11, 25-12, and 25-8 win over the Blue Bears.

    WINSTON-SALEM, NC – The Winston-Salem State Rams (18-7) gave a strong offensive performance, but the team could not match the UNC Pembroke Braves (7-24) in a four-set home loss, Wednesday evening. The Rams played well at times throughout the match, but some scoring droughts and untimely errors cost the Rams in the hard-fought, 21-25, 25-22, 19-25, and 19-25 loss.

    SALISBURY, NC  - It didn’t take long for the Winston-Salem State Rams (17-6) to get back to their winning ways when the team took an impressive four-set road win over the Catawba Indians (3-17), Wednesday evening. The Rams took the win in one of their most impressive offensive showings of the season, winning the match, 25-18, 20-25, 25-20, and 25-21.

    WINSTON-SALEM, NC – The Winston-Salem State Rams (16-6, 12-2 CIAA) gave a great effort, but the team could not find any answers when they took a three-set loss to the Shaw Lady Bears (23-4, 13-1 CIAA). The Rams gave a solid defensive effort against the Lady Bears, but the team could not quite get enough offense to claim the 25-19, 25-23, 25-15 loss.

    CHARLOTTE, NC – The Winston-Salem State Rams volleyball team is gaining momentum and picking up honor after honor along the way as WSSU junior outside hitter Mia Herrod was named the Central Intercollegiate Athletic Association (CIAA) Volleyball Player of the Week while WSSU head coach Andi Henderson was named the CIAA Coach of the Week for the second week in a row, Wednesday.

    BELMONT, NC - The Winston-Salem State Rams (16-5) gave a solid effort, but the team could find no answers for the Belmont Abbey Crusaders (13-8), Wednesday evening. The Rams gave a solid overall effort, but the team could not seem to get their offense going against the tough Crusader defense and took the 25-18, 25-23, and 25-19 road loss.

    WINSTON-SALEM, NC – The Winston-Salem State Rams (16-4, 12-1 CIAA) took their fifth straight win in dominating fashion when the team took a three-set win over the Saint Augustine’s Falcons (4-9,  4-9 CIAA), Monday evening. The Rams put on an impressive overall effort both defensively and offensively to claim the 25-21, 25-15, and 25-19 win.

    CHARLOTTE, NC – The honors just keep coming in for the Winston-Salem State Rams volleyball team as WSSU freshman setter Brittany Carpenter was named the Central Intercollegiate Athletic Association (CIAA) Rookie of the Week while head coach Andi Henderson was named the CIAA Coach of the Week. The duo took the honors after another undefeated week for the Rams as the team took a pair of CIAA Southern Division wins and a non-conference win.
  • Rams Claim Key Four-Set Victory at Fayetteville State

    FAYETTEVILLE, NC – The Winston-Salem State Rams (15-4, 11-1 CIAA) scored one of their biggest wins of the season when the team took a four-set road victory over the Fayetteville State Broncos (15-7, 10-2 CIAA), Monday evening. The win keeps the Rams in the hunt for the Central Intercollegiate Athletic Association (CIAA) Southern Division title and gave the Rams a season sweep over the Broncos.

    SALISBURY, NC – The Winston-Salem State Rams (14-4, 10-1 CIAA) put on one of their best performances of the season when the team took a dominant three-set road win over the Livingstone Blue Bears (3-11, 3-8 CIAA). The Rams controlled all three sets of the 25-12, 25-9, and 25-11 victory.

The Rams turned in a great offensive performance, but it was the team’s defense that stole the show in the 25-23, 25-19, 22-25, and 25-23 win.

    WINSTON-SALEM, NC – The Winston-Salem State Rams (12-4, 8-1 CIAA) needed a great effort, but the team was up to the challenge when they scored a four-set win over the johnson C. Smith Golden Bulls (9-4, 7-3 CIAA), Monday evening. After some tough early sets, the Rams turned on their efforts late to pull away from the Golden Bulls to take the win, 22-25, 25-15, 25-12, and 25-17.
  • Rams Fall in Five Sets at Shaw in Classic Match

    RALEIGH, NC – The Winston-Salem State Rams (11-4, 8-1 CIAA) gave it their all, but the team fell short in a classic five-set road match against the Shaw Bears (17-2, 9-0 CIAA), Thursday evening. After taking losses in the first two sets, the Rams staged a furious rally to push the match to a fifth set, but the team fell just short in the final set of the day. In the end, the Rams fell, 22-25, 17-25, 25-23, 27-25, and 9-15.
  • Rams Take a Three-Set Win Over Elizabeth City State for 10th Straight Victory

    PETERSBURG, VA – The Winston-Salem State Rams (10-3, 8-0 CIAA) stayed strong when the team took a three-set win over the Elizabeth City State Lady Vikings (2-16, 2-8 CIAA), Sunday morning at the Central Intercollegiate Athletic Association (CIAA) Volleyball Round Up. The Rams claimed their 10th straight victory in dominating fashion as they defeated the Lady Vikings, 25-12, 25-18, and 25-12.
  • Rams Take a Four-Set Win Over Virginia State for Eighth Straight Victory

    PETERSBURG, VA – The Winston-Salem State Rams (9-3, 6-0) remained perfect in conference play when the Rams took a four-set victory over the Virginia State Trojans on the opening day of the Central Intercollegiate Athletic Association (CIAA) Volleyball Round Up. With the win, the Rams claim their eighth straight victory and remained unbeaten in CIAA play with their 25-17, 23-25, 25-19, and 25-17, Saturday afternoon.
