Tommy Tyson is inducted into the WSSU C.E. “Big House” Gaines Athletic Hall of Fame for a stellar cheerleading career as a four-year letterman and co-captain of the Winston-Salem State University Cheerleading Squad (1994-1995), Tommy James Tyson was the first All-American male cheerleader at North Carolina State University.  He served as an instructor for Champion Cheerleading Camps, Inc. at N.C. State and was an integral part of the coaching staff at WSSU.  A 1996 graduate of WSSU, Tyson earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Education.
