MOUNT OLIVE, NC – The Winston-Salem State duo of redshirt-sophomore centerfielder E.P. Reese and junior pitcher Cole Parks were both honored by the North Carolina Collegiate Sports Information Association (NCCSIA) when they were named to the 2019 NCCSIA All-State Team, Monday afternoon. The players earned the honor after a terrific season for the Rams.
Parks was a first team selection to the all-state team after completing the season as one of the top pitchers on the Rams' squad. He posted a 10-2 record with the Rams in 86.2 innings on the mound. He also had 102 strikeouts with five complete games. He finished the season with a 4.57 earned run average (ERA). I addition to being named to the NCCSIA College Division All-State Team, he also earned a spot on the Black College Nines' Elite Team and the National Collegiate Baseball Writers Association (NCBWA) All-region team.
Joining Parks with first team honors was redshirt-sophomore centerfielder E.P. Reese. He finished the 2019 season with a team-high .408 batting average with 73 hits in 179 at-bats. He also added 10 doubles, two triples, and four home runs. Defensively, he had a .976 fielding percentage with 120 putouts and two assists with only three fielding errors. The honor comes in addition to him being named to the ABCA/Rawlings NCAA Division II All-Region Team.
