Rams Fall to Virginia Union

Three Rams scored in double figures, but it wasn't enough as Winston-Salem State lost to CIAA rival Virginia Union 59-55 in the championship game of the inaugural Chris Paul HBCU Tip Off in Uncasville, CT.  Graduate student Javonte Cooke led the Rams with 15 points.  Senior Jonathan Hicklin and redshirt senior Cameron Campbell each scored 12 points. WSSU reached the championship game by defeating Morehouse 58-45 on Monday night.  Campbell scored 12 points and grabbed seven rebounds, while Hicklin had 11 points and eight rebounds in that game. The Rams-Panthers game was close throughout and featured 10 lead changes and eight ties.
