WINSTON-SALEM, NC – The Winston-Salem State Rams football team got an early jump on the 2019 season with their first practice starting at 6:00 a.m., Friday morning. Conditioning and high spirits highlighted the Rams' first practice of the season with sprints dominating the early portion of the practice session before position group drills closed out the day.
The practice session was an energetic one with several highlights. Senior running back Farrell Murchinson made his return to the field after missing last season while the session also gave Interim Head Coach to relive some of his glory days as he was hands on, leading the defensive back drills.
The work wasn't done for the Rams as the morning practice session was followed by breakfast and assisting with Winston-Salem State University's freshmen move in. Members of the Rams football team were on hand to welcome the newest class of Rams and to assist their move in to the campus of Winston-Salem State University.
The Rams will return to action tomorrow morning when the team once again holds a 6:00 a.m. practice session. For more information on Rams football, contact the WSSU Office of Athletic Media Relations at (336) 750-2143 or log on to www.WSSURams.com.
