    CHARLOTTE, NC – Winston-Salem State University senior first base Shauntaja Dedecker was named the Food Lion Central Intercollegiate Athletic Association (CIAA) Softball Defensive Player of the Week, Monday afternoon. She earned the honor after some stellar defensive play at first base for the Rams.

    WINSTON-SALEM, NC - The Winston-Salem State University Rams (5-10) gave a great effort late, but it was not quite enough when the team took a 4-3 loss to the Kutztown Golden Bears (5-5), Saturday morning. After falling behind early, the Rams staged a late rally, but it was not quite enough in the tough loss.

    WINSTON-SALEM, NC - The Winston-Salem State University Rams (5-11) put on an aggressive effort, but the team struggled in a 9-0 loss to the Kutztown Golden Bears (6-5), Saturday afternoon. The Rams had a tough time getting their offense going as the team was held to just one hit in the shutout loss to the Bears.
  • Rams Hit Three Home Runs in 15-5 Loss to Walsh

    WINSTON-SALEM, NC - The Winston-Salem State University Rams (5-9) showed some great power at times, but the team could not keep up in a 15-5 loss to the Walsh Cavaliers (8-3), Thursday afternoon. The Rams notched three home runs in the game, but the effort was not enough to keep up with the Cavaliers.

    CHARLOTTE, NC - The Winston-Salem State University softball team was recognized for a pair of dominating performances when four Rams earned Coca Cola Central Intercollegiate Athletic Association (CIAA) Softball Weekly Honors, Tuesday. The Rams claimed the Food Lion Offensive, Defensive, Pitcher, and Rookie of the Week honors for their performance at the CIAA/SIAC Challenge just over a week ago.
  • Chambers Named to Schutt Sports/NFCA Division II National Player of the Year Watch List

    LOUISVILLE, KY – Winston-Salem State University senior infielder Daijah Chambers was among fifty-five student-athletes from across the country to have been selected for the “Watch List” for the 2020 Schutt/NFCA Division II National Player of the Year award. After earning National FastPitch Coaches Association (NFCA) All-Region honors last season, the senior is poised to make her mark on the national stage this season.
  • Rams Struggle in 15-0 Loss to Alderson Broaddus

    MOUNT OLIVE, NC – The Winston-Salem State Rams (1-4) could not overcome several defensive struggles when the team took a 15-0 loss to the Alderson Broaddus Battlers (3-2), Sunday afternoon. The Rams gave a strong effort overall effort in the game, but the team could not get past a fourth inning debacle that cost them the game.
  • Rams Allow Costly Late Rally in 6-3 Loss at Mount Olive

    MOUNT OLIVE, NC – The Winston-Salem State Rams (1-5) played well, but the team fell victim to a seventh-inning rally in a 6-3 loss to the Mount Olive Trojans (4-2), Sunday afternoon. The Rams carried a 3-1 lead into the seventh inning, but the team allowed five runs in the inning, including allowing a three-run walk-off home run that ended the game.
  • Rams Take an 8-4 Win Over Alderson Broaddus

    MOUNT OLIVE, NC – The Winston-Salem State University Rams (1-2) softball team put on a strong offensive performance to claim an 8-4 win over the Alderson Broaddus Battlers (2-1), Saturday afternoon. In addition to a powerful offensive performance, the Rams played some lock down defense late to pull away with the win.  
  • Rams Take an 8-0 Loss at Mount Olive

    MOUNT OLIVE, NC – The Winston-Salem State Rams (1-3) gave a solid effort, but the team could not get their offense going in an 8-0 five-inning road loss to the Mount Olive Trojans (1-2). The Rams were able to get 10 runners on base during the game, but the team could not get them home in the tough loss. 
  • Rams Open 2020 Season with a 9-1 Loss at Anderson (S.C.)

    ANDERSON, SC – After Saturday's games were canceled due to inclement weather, the Winston-Salem State University Rams (0-1) had to wait until Sunday to open the 2020 season. The Rams opened the season with a 9-1 loss to the Anderson (S.C.) Trojans (2-1).

    ANDERSON, SC – The Winston-Salem State University Rams (0-2) gave a strong effort, but the team could not find their offensive way in a 5-0 road loss to the Anderson (S.C.) Trojans. The Rams played some solid defense in the game and made a strong offensive effort, but the team struggled to get things into gear against the Trojans.
  • Three Rams Named to 2020 CIAA Softball Preseason All-Conference Team; WSSU Picked to Finish Seventh in Preseason Predicted Order of Finish

    CHARLOTTE, NC ? The Winston-Salem State University Rams softball got a big motivational chip when the Central Intercollegiate Athletic Association (CIAA) released its 2020 Preseason Predicted Order of Finish, Wednesday. After winning the 2019 CIAA Softball Championship Tournament, the Rams were picked to finish seventh overall and fourth in the CIAA Southern Division. As the team looks to prove the predictions wrong, the Rams will have a trio of great players leading the way with three WSSU players earning spots on the 2020 CIAA Preseason All-Conference team.
