Bio

2016: Aja had another solid season with the Rams…Playing the #3 position, she had a strong season…She played in 14 of the team’s 16 matches and amassed an 8-6 overall singles record and a 7-4 record in CIAA play….She was 8-5 at #3 singles…In doubles play, she joined Gabrielle Lindsay to compile an 8-6 record at #1 doubles.

2015: Aja had a great freshman season with the Rams, primarily playing at the #4 singles position…She finished the season with an 11-4 overall singles record and a 9-4 record in CIAA play…She also posted a 9-6 doubles record along with junior Devan Corpening att the #2 doubles position…At one point, she scored three straight wins.

Personal: Aja joined the Lady Rams tennis program in the fall of 2014 when she was one of many newcomers to the team…She is a native of Winston-Salem, N.C. and a graduate of Reagen High School where she earned numerous tennis honors…She was named to the all-conference team twice and earned a spot on the all-region team as a senior…She was a member of the 4A CPC Doubles Champions runners-up team in 2013 and the 4A CPC Doubles Champion in 2014…She was also named to the all-state team as well…She is an Exercise Science major and the daughter of  Vicki Grant and C.E. “Big House” Gaines Athletic Hall of Famer Tim Grant.
