Six Rams Named to 2017 USTFCCCA All-Region Team

NEW ORLEANS, LA – After a successful 2017 season, the honors started coming in for the Winston-Salem State Rams women's indoor track & field team with six team members earning spots on the United States Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA) All-Region Team. The Rams earned the honors after finishing among the top five individuals and the top three relay teams in the NCAA Division II Atlantic Region this season.

The Winston-Salem State 4x400m relay team earned the honor after ranking fourth in the region. The team was comprised of freshman Kayla Foy, freshman Cierra Thompson, freshman Ma'Kyia Gayden, and senior Rachel Bonham.

 Individually, the Rams were led by senior sprinter Ty-Leah Hampton, who earned the honors in the women's 60m dash and the women's 200m dash. She ranked third in the women's 60m dash and she was first in the region in the women's 200m dash. Freshman Kayla Foy also ranked fourth in the region. Senior Taska Johnson ranked third in the women's 800m run.
