Rams Battle Through the Elements at Duke Invitational

DURHAM, NC – The Winston-Salem State Rams battled through wind and rainy weather to post some solid times at the 2019 Duke Invitational. The inclement conditions were no hindrance for the Rams who were still able to put on some quality performances at the meet.

The Rams were especially impressive on the track. Junior sprinter Cierra Thompson led the way for the Rams as she placed fifth in the women's 100m dash. She ran an 11.81 to earn the top five finish. Thompson also placed 40th in the women's 200m dash with a 25.34. Sophomore Victoria Porter led the Rams in the women's 200m dash when she placed 23rd with a 25.09. Porter was also impressive in the women's 400m dash when she placed 20th in the women's 400m run. She ran a 56.86 in the event.
