    NEW ORLEANS, LA – Winston-Salem State University senior sprinter Cierra Thompson was named an NCAA Division II Indoor Track & Field All-American, Tuesday afternoon. The announcement was made by the United States Track & Field/Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA), Tuesday evening.

    BIRMINGHAM, AL - With the safety of student-athletes, spectators, coaches, and officials in mind, the decision has been made to make chanced to the upcoming 2020 NCAA Division II Indoor Track & Field National Championship Meet. The annual pre-meet banquet has been cancelled and there will be fans permitted to the championship track & field meet.

    BIRMINGHAM, AL - The NCAA has determined that the 2020 NCAA Division II Indoor Track & Field National Championship has been canceled. The event was one of the many sporting events that has been cancelled effective immediately by the NCAA. With the safety and well-being of student-athletes, coaches, staff, and fans in mind, the decision has been made to cancel the event immediately. 
  • Seven Rams Named to USTFCCCA All-Region Team

    NEW ORLEANS, LA - The Winston-Salem State University Rams women’s indoor track & field team have had an impressive 2019-20 season and have been rewarded with seven members of the team earning spots on the United States Track & Field/Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA) NCAA Division II All-Region Team. The Rams earned the honors after ranking among the top five in their events in their respective region. Three WSSU student-athletes earned spots in their individual events while the four members of the Rams’ 4x400m relay also earned spots on the team.
  • Rams Place Fourth at 2020 CIAA Indoor Track & Field Championships

    WINSTON-SALEM, NC – The Winston-Salem State University Rams finished fourth at the 2020 Central Intercollegiate Athletic  Association (CIAA) Women’s Indoor Track & Field Championship Meet, Monday. The Rams totaled 76 points in the two-day meet to edge out the Johnson C. Smith Golden Bulls who totaled 70 points.

The Winston-Salem State University Rams women?s indoor track & field team began its quest for a title on day one of the 2020 Central Intercollegiate Athletic Association (CIAA) Indoor Track & Field Championships at the JDL Fast Track, Sunday afternoon. In addition to getting 15 day one points, the Rams were able to put themselves into a position for a strong finish tomorrow.

    CLEMSON, SC – The Winston-Salem State University track & field team had some great performances against some of the best competition in the Bob Pollock Invitational Track & Field Meet this weekend. The Rams saw some great sprint efforts along with some strong performances in field events as well during the two-day meet.

    CHARLOTTE, NC – It didn’t take long for the honors to come in for Winston-Salem State senior printer Cierra Thompson. On Tuesday morning, she was named the Central Intercollegiate Athletic Association (CIAA) Food Lion Runner of the Week. She earned the honor after a great performance at the Clemson Opener, the first indoor track & field meet of the season.

The team took part in the 2019 JDL Early Bird College Invitational just one day after competing in the Clemson Opener. The Rams showed no signs of fatigue with several standout performances at the meet.

The Rams were especially impressive in sprint events at the meet and they also saw some strong middle distance performances as well.
