2019-20: Ashley returned for a solid junior season. She remained one of the top throwers on the team for the Rams. She saved one of her best performances for when it counted as she recorded a 39'9.75" (12.13m) throw to place fourth at the 2020 Central Intercollegiate Athletic Association (CIAA) Women's Indoor Track & Field Championship. She also had a 36'2.75" (11.04m) throw at the JDL Early Bird Invitational. She also added a 35'0.25" (10.67m) at the Bob Pollock Invitational.
2018-19: Ashley had a 25’9.25” (7.85m) throw in the women’s shot put at the JDL College Dual Meet Madness...She also had a 36’10.5” (11.24m) at the Wake Forest Invitational…In the outdoor season, she had a 33.30m throw in the women’s discus throw at the VertKlasse Meeting hosted by High Point University…She also had a 33’9.5” (10.30m) throw in the women’s shot put at the Terrier Relays…She had an 11.52m throw at the Johnson C. Smith Invitational and she finished the season with a sixth place finish in the women’s shot put at the CIAA Outdoor Track & Field Championships with a 39’ 8.75” (12.11m) throw….She placed fifth in the women’s discus throw with a 122’2” (37.25m) throw.
2017-18: Ashley had a strong freshman season for the Rams…Her best performance came at the 2018 CIAA Indoor Track & Field Championships where she had a 36’7” (11.15m) throw in the women’s shot put…She also had a 36’5.5” (11.11m) throw at the Camel City Invitational in the women’s shot put…In the outdoor season, she 35’3” (10.74m) throw in the women’s shot put at the CIAA Outdoor Track & Field Championships along with a 36’5” (11.10m) throw at the North Carolina A&T Aggie Invitational…In the discus, she had a 117’ 5” (35.79m) throw at the CIAA Outdoor Track & Field Championships as well.
Personal: Ashley joined the Rams in the fall of 2018…She is a 2017 graduate of the Phillip O. Berry Academy of Technology in Charlotte, N.C….During her high school career, she had several honors…She was named her team’s cross country MVP and she was named her team’s Rookie of the Year…She earned the Leadership Award and she was named the track & field MVP during her career…She earned all-conference, all-region, and all state honors during her career…She won an individual conference championship in the shot put and discus as well as being the NCHSAA Outdoor West Region individual champion in the shot put and discus in 2017….In addition to her great career in track & field, Taylor also played basketball…Academically, she earned several honors as well…She was a member of the Math Honor Society and the National Society of High School Scholars…She earned a spot on the honor roll several times and she was named to the Academic all-conference, academic all-region, and academic all-state teams during her career…She was also an NAF Health Sciences graduate…She is a Biology major and she is the daughter of Bridget and David S. Taylor, III.
