2021-22- Taniyah continued her outstanding play as she resumes her track duties as a junior due to the loss of the 2021 year. The Winston-Salem State indoor track and field team competed in the Camel City Invitational at JDL Fast Track Friday and Saturday. Together the Rams competed in 10 total events throughout the weekend. Taniyah competed in the 60m dash where she recorded 8.37. The Winston Salem State indoor track and field team was back in action yesterday, January 23 at the JDL Fast Track meet. Together the Rams competed in a total of 11 events highlighted by the 4x400 team finishing in first place overall. In the 400m dash, Taniyah Oates ran a time of 1:11.69.

2019-20: Taniyah was off to a solid freshman season after an impressive effort during the indoor track & field season before the outdoor season was canceled due to COVID-19. She had a pair of great performances early in the season when she ran an 8.34 in the women's 60m dash at the Clemson Opener. She also ran a 28.08 in the women's 200m dash at the JDL Early Bird Invitational. She added a 2:53.56 in the women's 800m dash at the Mondo College Invitational. She also competed in the pentathlon at the 2020 Central Intercollegiate Athletic Association (CIAA) Women's Indoor Track & Field Championship Meet.

Personal: Taniyah joined the Rams in the fall of 2019…She comes to Winston-Salem State after a great high school career at Eastern Wayne High School…She is a Pre-Sociology major.
