Rams Cruise in a Three-Set Win at Bluefield State

BLUEFIELD, WV – The Winston-Salem State Rams (4-5) cruised their way to a three-set road win over the Bluefield State Blues (0-11), Tuesday evening. The Rams took the win behind a tremendous defensive effort as they pulled away with a 25-11, 25-8, and 25-2 win.

The Rams took the win behind their best defensive performance of the season. The team held their opponents to just 21 points in the match. The team needed just 27 kills to claim the win while holding the Blues to just seven kills. WSSU senior outside hitter Ytae Cobb led the way for the Rams with seven kills in the match. Freshman outside hitter Sanaa Lanier added six kills as well.

With the win, the Rams claim back-to-back victories for the second time this season,. The team will return to action this weekend when they head to Orangeburg, S.C. to take on the Claflin Panthers,. The team will stay in Orangeburg, S.C. to take part in the Central Intercollegiate Athletic Association (CIAA) Volleyball Round Up.
